Technical education, vocational training: what more tangible support can there be for the future of a community victim of religious persecutions, in Asia?

After the attack by several thousand Muslims against churches and homes of Christians in the city of Jaranwala, which occurred in August 2023, the Salesian Community of Lahore offered the affected populations concrete aid in the education and school sector. In fact, many victims have lost their means of subsistence and need professional training to acquire new skills and find sustainable job opportunities. Thanks also to the support of the DON BOSCO NEL MONDO Foundation, the Salesians of Lahore have provided 20 scholarships for annual technical courses aimed at unemployed young people or adults, and have distributed school supplies, books, uniforms, and hygiene kits to 1,500 boys and girls between the age of 6 and 15.
