DON BOSCO NEL MONDO Foundation was established on December 20th 2000 as a direct emanation of the General Council of the Congregation of the Salesians of Don Bosco.
Already erected as an Autonomous Pious Foundation – Public Legal Person in canonical headquarters by decree No. 009/200 of the Ordinary of the Diocese of Porto Santa Ruffina of March 20th 2002, it became a civilly recognized ecclesiastical organization, by Decree of the Ministry of the Interior of August 6th 2002 published in the Official Gazette no. 216 of September 14th 2002 with registration at the Prefecture of Rome – Territorial Office of the Government – by Act no. 154 of October 21st 2002.
Pursuant to art. 10, paragraph 9 of Legislative Decree no. 460/1997 and on the basis of the Regulation approved by the Board of Directors on October 1st 2003, the non-profit Branch was established by the Registration in the Register of non-profit organizations DR Lazio of the Revenue Agency on October 6th 2003, pursuant to art. 4, paragraph 2 of Legislative Decree no. 266/2003.
Through the non-profit Branch – Charity, the Foundation carries out activities of social utility. In particular, it collects donations, through the communication of the charitable activities carried out and through the Salesian Bulletin. Following the chapter guidelines that the General Council of the Congregation implements, it also plans, organizes, and manages the activities aimed at supporting Salesian projects and missions, on a technical-organizational and economic-financial level.
Until 2023, the Foundation has not approved the Regulation for Third sector organizations, since the transmigration of the non-profit Branches of Ecclesiastical Entities to the Single National Register of the Third Sector has not yet been carried out.
